GroundUp participated in the LEA Projects Cluster Meeting on Friday, 24 October 2025, hosted by Privanova and SafeHorizon, gathering representatives from over 45 EU-funded projects in the field of law enforcement innovation, cybersecurity, and digital resilience. The event took place under the European Cybersecurity Month initiative and featured contributions from INTERPOL and leading Horizon Europe projects.
Gvozden Tasić, Coordinator of the GroundUp Project (Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences), presented the project in his session titled “Connecting the Dots: How CBRNE Innovation Enhances Europe’s Overall Security Landscape.”
As a proud member of the LEA Projects Cluster, GroundUp gains valuable opportunities to exchange expertise, connect with leading EU-funded security initiatives, and engage directly with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), industry partners, and policymakers.
This membership supports GroundUp’s key objectives in several ways:
- Establishing a Business Community: Through the Cluster’s extensive network of technology providers, research organisations, and LEAs, GroundUp can identify potential business partners, foster public-private collaboration, and attract stakeholders from both the private and public sectors. This directly supports its goal of building a vibrant CBRNE business ecosystem.
- Creating an Education and Research Hub: The Cluster facilitates dialogue between academia and practitioners working on cybersecurity, counter-terrorism, and crisis management. These interactions help GroundUp strengthen its Education and Research Hub, promoting knowledge transfer and fostering innovation that bridges CBRNE research with practical industry applications in Southern CEE.
- Boosting Entrepreneurship and Employability: Participation in the Cluster allows GroundUp to align its mentoring and capacity-building initiatives with real-world security priorities, ensuring that students, researchers, and start-ups gain exposure to the operational needs of LEAs and other end-users.
- Expanding Clustering and Outreach Efforts: As part of a large European security community led by Privanova, GroundUp enhances its visibility, communication, and dissemination efforts. It also benefits from cross-project synergies and outreach activities involving global stakeholders such as INTERPOL, UNODC, and the EU Innovation Hub.
By engaging in the LEA Projects Cluster, GroundUp not only contributes to a collective European security mission but also advances its own vision of creating a resilient, innovative, and interconnected CBRNE ecosystem in the Southern Central and Eastern European region.
